After three years of building a set of songs and playing to crazy mofo beach goers. MAR HAZE release their debut EP “SUMMER SESSION” through MGM. The songs are energetic yet very easy listening and sure to please, blending their affection of reggae and rock and with their love of real blues & roots. Drawing influences from groups ‘The Beautiful Girls’, ‘Gomez’, ‘John Butler Trio’ and ‘G Love’; what defines MAR HAZE is the unique sharp, edgy and sometimes scat vocals of front person Dean Mitchell.

SUMMER SESSION is a raw, garage style recording produced, engineered and mixed by Shane Fahey at Megaphon Studios Sydney encapsulating Dean’s distinct vocals and the bands hard hitting stage sound. The lyric’s are true and honest, they tell stories about the ocean, youth and girls.

Keeping it coastal, MAR HAZE continues to build their profile by creating an enterprise, centering around their two passions – music and surfing.

MAR HAZE is: Dean Mitchell – Lead vocals, guitar, trumpet & Harp. Kane Charles – Keys, vocals. Chris Kelly – Bass guitar, vocals. Chris Long – Drums.


MAR HAZE will be touring Australia’s east coast over summer 2011/2012 recreating their summer session live.
